Are you confused by the unending variety of teas available in today’s marketplace? Do you understand where tea grows and how soil affects tea taste? Can you explain how green tea differs from black tea? Are you confident in your steeping skills for various teas?

The Boston Tea Party Ships & Museum is thrilled to welcome back Tea Master Bruce Richardson who has helped educate countless tea drinkers in the basic skills needed to make a proper cup of tea—time after time. In this hour-long presentation Bruce will introduce you to the major growing areas of the world, the processing steps for each tea family, and the best ways to prepare and taste tea like a professional.

Bruce Richardson has been at the forefront of the American tea renaissance for over 30 years. He is the author of a dozen books about tea, including The New Tea Companion, The Great Tea Rooms of Britain, and A Social History of Tea. Bruce serves as Contributing Editor for Tea Time magazine, Tea Master for the new Boston Tea Party Ships & Museum, and Master Blender at Kentucky's Elmwood Inn Fine Tea where he received commissions to design custom teas for the Yale Center for British Arts, the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum, the Museum of Fine Arts Boston, as well as the Boston Tea Party Ships & Museum. He has presented lectures on tea at Winterthur, the Dallas Museum of Art, the Frist Museum, Monticello, the Georgia O’Keeffe Museum, and the North American Convention of the Jane Austen Society.
